Set Up Your Automations

There’s three important considerations of this chart.

  1. It doesn’t go to zero. If an event never or almost never happens, there’s no reason to automate it even if relatively little time is spent.
  2. The slope. I’ve chosen a slope of ~1, meaning that each extra time this task happens a similar amount of time should be added in automating it.
  3. The linearity. Similar to slope but across larger increments. Frequency of 1 to 2 requires the same increase in planning time as 500 to 501.
